Using a trash bag, go into the room you want to work on first and throw out all visible trash items.

Let's say your doing your bedroom. Get more trash bags. Start hanging up clean clothes, putting all dirty clothes in the hamper or in the laundry room and place items back into drawers.

Use one bag for trash items and the other bag for donations. As your hanging up clothes and looking through your things throw out or donate items you don't want anymore. The less you have the easier it is to be organized.

If there are items in the bedroom that don't belong there than take them to the room they belong in. DO NOT stay in that room, go back into the bedroom and continue clearing off dressers, beds, floors or any area that has piles of clutter.

When everything in the room is put in it's place then it's time to start another room.

The key to saying organized is to have a home for all your items. For example, store batteries in a kitchen drawer, or hats and gloves in the hall closet. Make sure you have a home for your items so when you need to use them again you can go back to that particular spot and find them. Small daily organizing activities like going from room to room with a trash bag and picking up trash can keep your home organized and clutter free. Just remember when your ready to "clean" up the clutter start in one room and stay there till it's finished.

Call Beverly at 510-703-9006 If you need help.
